Soung Bae

Soung Bae is a research associate at the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at Stanford University. Her research interests stem from a commitment to improving educational opportunities and meeting the needs of underrepresented students. They focus on school accountability, through examining teaching and learning in urban schools; learner variability and Universal Design for Learning; organizational learning; and the role of educational policy on teachers’ work. Prior to joining the Gardener Center, Bae was with the Schwab Learning Center at Stanford University and a policy analyst at the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education. She received her PhD from the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley, with a concentration in human development and education.
