Thea Sweo Alvarado is an adjunct associate professor of sociology at San Joaquin College where she teaches courses in women's studies, race and ethnicity, criminology, aging, research methods, immigration, multiculturalism, and marriage and family. Alvarado is a member of the Pacific Sociological Association and of the California Sociological Association. She received her EdD in educational leadership from the University of California, Davis.
