Elizabeth Zeiger Friedmann is a research fellow at Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research and the California Education Lab in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on issues related to college access and success, including financial aid and transfer pathways from community colleges. She was distinguished with the New Scholar Award from the Association for Education Finance and Policy in 2016. In addition to her work at UC Davis, she lectures in the Hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism Department in the College of Education at California State University, East Bay. She formerly worked in the hospitality industry. Friedmann received her BA in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, an MA in education and an MA in recreation and tourism from CSU East Bay and a PhD in education with an emphasis on school organization and educational policy from the University of California, Davis.
