James Bridgeforth is a research associate at the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center. He is also a PhD student in urban education policy at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. Bridgeforth was previously an elementary educator working for public schools and the academy system in Atlanta, Georgia. His primary research interests include exploring teacher resistance and mobilization in schools; the impact of the charter school movement on Black and Latinx communities; culturally responsive school leadership; and first-generation students' access to college and persistence through college. Bridgeforth received his MA in education from the University of Georgia.
