Adam Matthew Voight is an associate professor of education and counseling and director of the Center for Urban Education in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at Cleveland State University. He is a founding member of the Cleveland Alliance for Educational Research (CAER), a research–practice partnership between the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the Center for Urban Education, and the American Institutes for Research (AIR). He has also worked as a high school social studies teacher and counselor. Grounded in community and developmental psychological theory, Voight researches the interplay between young people's social contexts—including schools, neighborhoods, and families—and their education, social, and civic outcomes. Voight received his MA in counseling from Michigan State University and his PhD in community research and action from Vanderbilt University.
