Adam Matthew Voight
Adam Matthew Voight is an associate professor of education and counseling and director of the Center for Urban Education in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at Cleveland State University. He is a founding member of the Cleveland Alliance for Educational Research (CAER), a research-practice partnership between the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the Center for Urban Education, and the American Institutes for Research (AIR). Dr. Voight has also worked as a high school social studies teacher and counselor. Grounded in community and developmental psychological theory, he researches the interplay between young people's social contexts—including schools, neighborhoods, and families—and their education, social, and civic outcomes. In addressing these research topics, he works in partnership with school communities and nonprofit, community-based, and youth organizations. Dr. Voight holds a PhD in community research and action from Vanderbilt University, an MA in counseling from Michigan State University, and a BA in psychology from the University of Michigan
