Alan J. Daly
Alan J. Daly is a professor in the department of education studies at the University of California, San Diego and director of the educational leadership doctoral program. He was most recently the chair of education studies at UC San Diego and a Fulbright Global Scholar in New Zealand and South Africa as well as a Fulbright Specialist in Spain and in Chile. He has held a wide variety of positions in K–12 public public education, ranging from classroom teacher to district psychologist to site administrator. His current research is on the role of social networks, leadership, educational policy, and knowledge mobilization with a focus on equity. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters along with five books. His work has also been widely supported by national, international, and philanthropic sources focused on transforming educational spaces. Dr. Daly holds a PhD in education with an emphasis in educational leadership and organizations from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a MS in counseling from San Diego State University, and a BA in psychology from Clark University.
