Alison W. Bowers
Alison W. Bowers is a research associate with the Social Ecology Lab in the Environmental Social Sciences Department in Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University. She is also a research associate with the Monitoring and Evaluation of Climate Change Education and Communication project, working on a knowledge syntheses initiative comprising interdisciplinary perspectives related to climate change education and communication. She is a career educational researcher in natural resources and the environment; her scholarship focuses on design and process with a particular interest in various approaches to systematic research reviews and grounded theory methodology. Her recent work has studied conservation outcomes alongside early childhood environmental education and the relationship between civic engagement and positive youth development. She previously taught special education. Bowers received her PhD in educational research and evaluation from Virginia Tech.
