Ana M. Elfers
Ana M. Elfers is a research associate professor in the College of Education at the University of Washington. She researches teaching quality and the teacher workforce, particularly within the context of Washington state, with a focus on analyses that can help state and district policymakers sharpen the questions they consider as they seek to improve equity of access to high-quality education for Washington’s school children. Her research interests further include professional development, school community, and teacher and school leadership, as well as the ways in which these can support effective teaching and learning. Elfers is interested in international issues in education, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe. Elfers received her MA from the University of Belgrade and her PhD from the University of Washington.
