Angélica González is an assistant professor of Mexican-American studies with the Southwestern Community College District in South San Diego County, CA. She is concurrently assistant director of the Regional Internship Program at the San Diego and Imperial County College Association. González was previously an assistant professor of Chicano studies at Los Angeles City College; an adjunct instructor at San Diego City College (SDCC); former cochair of the Title V Task Force and Title V activity director at SDCC; Title V STEM project director at Orange Coast College; district director for the National Consortium on College Men of Color with the Community College Equity Assessment Lab; and cocoordinator for the Minority Male Community College Collaborative. González's interests include promoting cultural diversity, social responsibility, and resilient communities. She works to foster education and support its role in achieving access, success, and social justice. González received her MA in Chicana/o studies from the California State University, Northridge, and her EdD in educational leadership with an emphasis on community colleges from San Diego State University.
