Barbara Jean Sims

Barbara Jean Sims is co-director of the State Implementation and Scaling-up of Evidence-based Practices (SISEP) Center and associate director of the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over 30 years of experience in education as a teacher, administrator, and consultant across private, public, and state education agency settings, her current focus is on applying implementation research to the education field. She previously served as an administrator and teacher in the Oakland Unified School District and was a research assistant at Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE). Sims earned her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
