Brian Gill

Brian Gill is senior fellow at Mathematica Policy Research and director of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Educational Laboratory. He has led pioneering studies on the effectiveness of nonprofit charter-school management organizations and the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) schools. He has also codirected research on the long-term outcomes of charter high schools, including graduation rates, college enrollment, and earnings. In addition to his research on school choice, Gill has extensively studied accountability measures in education, serving as principal investigator for federal studies on the implementation of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and exploring the application of behavioral science to educational accountability. Gill received both his PhD in jurisprudence and social policy and his JD from the University of California, Berkeley.
