Cassandra M. D. Hart is a professor of education policy in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis, where she also chairs the Capital Area North Doctorate in Education Leadership program. Her research examines the effects of education policies and programs on student achievement and equity, with particular attention to online education in K–12 schools and community colleges, school choice, accountability policies, and teacher–student demographic matching. Her work has been supported by grants from the Spencer Foundation and the Institute of Education Sciences. Hart received her MPP from the University of Chicago and her PhD in human development and social policy from Northwestern University.
