Christine Vriesema is an Associate professor of psychology in the Psychology Department at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where she leads the Psychology in Education (PIE) Lab, a collaborative research space focused on improving K–12 student and teacher experiences. Her research examines factors that shape teachers’ job satisfaction and retention, including school working conditions and professional growth opportunities, as well as the role of teacher-student relationships in fostering student motivation and learning. She also investigates how schools can support students and teachers in responding to academic setbacks. Vriesema earned a BA in psychology from Pomona College and an MA and PhD in educational psychology from the University of Arizona.
