Dave Calhoun is a project specialist at CORE Districts, where he provides data system support, measurement consultation for improvement projects, and manages the social and emotional learning survey system. He was formerly the executive director of research, evaluation, and assessment for Fresno Unified School District, where he spent 30 years leading program evaluations, developing performance-based assessment systems, and managing state and district assessment programs. Calhoun has contributed to mathematics professional development efforts nationwide through the Interactive Mathematics Project and has published various research papers. For the past decade, he has been an adjunct instructor in the graduate program at California State University, Fresno, teaching research and statistics, as well as courses in the marriage and family therapy program, a field in which he holds an MA degree. Calhoun continues to serve on the national SEL Assessment Work Group facilitated by CASEL. He is a former high school mathematics teacher.
