Elizabeth Bailey Kozleski is a professor of research at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. She was previously dean’s scholar for teaching and research at Stanford GSE, chair and professor of special education at the University of Kansas, and affiliated faculty at the Institute for Policy and Social Research Center for Research on Learning. She was formerly professor of culture, society, and education and professor of special education at Arizona State University. She also co-leads the World Education Research Association International Research Network on Student Voice for Promoting Equity and Inclusion in Schools. Dr. Kozleski engages in systems change and research on equity and justice issues in inclusive education in schools, school systems as well as state and national education organizations and agencies. Her research interests include how teachers learn in practice in complex and diverse school settings, including how educational practices improve student learning. She has recently been distinguished by a Luminary Award in the Division for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners along with a Budig Teaching Professorship in Special Education from the University of Kansas, where she was earlier awarded Woman of Distinction. Dr. Kozleski holds an EdD in special education research, teaching and administration from the University of Northern Colorado, an MEd in special education with an emphasis on emotional disturbance from George Mason University, and a BS in childhood/elementary education from George Mason University.
