Elizabeth A. Estes is the founder of Breaking Barriers and an attorney who has represented minors and public education for over 25 years. A trauma survivor with expertise across agencies, she understands the importance of supporting the whole child. Since then, Estes has spent over twenty years representing school districts and dependent children and is an expert in all aspects of special education and student services, including student discipline, inter-district transfers, open enrollment, first amendment protections, IEP processes, discrimination, cyber-bullying, behavior management, media literacy, student assessment, program development, and more. She is currently of counsel at the education firm Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Estes received her JD from Loyola Law School.
