Eugene Judson
Eugene Judson is professor of science education and educational policy in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University (ASU). He is also a research affiliate of the ASU Center for Innovation in Informal STEM Learning. He was previously research scientist and program manager at the ASU Center for Research on Education in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology; evaluator and school district liaison with the Arizona Collaborative for Excellence in the Preparation of Teachers; and lead researcher and director of academic and instructional support in the School Effectiveness Division at the Arizona Department of Education. Judson's research focuses on educational policies and their effects on STEM education in both K–12 and higher education environments to better understand effects of education policy, examine issues of inclusion and equity, and support effective learning environments. His recent topics include promoting STEM aspirations among youth of refugee communities in Arizona; exploring how STEM faculty are assigned various duties based on gender; tracking trends in science and math Advanced Placement among underrepresented students; and evaluating how educators make sense of Next Generation Science Standards. Judson received his EdD in curriculum and instruction and his MEd in educational media and computers from Arizona State University.
