Femi Vance is a principal researcher at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she evaluates out-of-school time (OST) programs and provides technical assistance to youth development professionals. Her expertise includes youth program quality, social and emotional learning, evaluation capacity building, and skill building in youth programs. She has extensive experience providing professional development on continuous quality improvement, youth engagement, and staff coaching and has co-authored practical guides for OST practitioners. Vance is a field consultant for the National Summer Learning Association and serves on the board of the California School-Age Consortium. She has presented at national conferences, including the 2019 Bridge Conference hosted by School’s Out Washington. Vance earned her MEd in education from the University of California, Irvine, an MA in public policy from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in educational policy and social context from the University of California, Irvine.
