Gail E. Lovette is a teaching assistant professor in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia (UVA). Her previous roles at UVA include research assistant professor, being on the leadership team of the Supporting Transformative Autism Research initiative, and directing Turnaround Projects. She has also been a clinician as well as an education and outreach specialist with the UVA McGuffey Reading Services center. She previously worked as an elementary reading specialist and an elementary grades classroom teacher in the Charlottesville and Alexandria (VA) public schools systems. Lovette received her MA in educational leadership and administration from George Washington University and her PhD in reading education from UVA.
