Glenn M. Kleiman
Glenn M. Kleiman is a senior advisor at the Stanford Accelerator for Learning. He has made many contributions to education research, practice, and policy. He began his career as professor and senior researcher at the National Center for the Study of Reading at the University of Illinois. After work as a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto, he explored the potential of computers to enhance education; he then founded an early ed-tech company developing software, working with educators, and writing a magazine column as well as a book about computers and learning. As vice president and senior scientist at Education Development Center in the Boston area, he led initiatives on mathematics education, educational technology, and education policy. He taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Education before becoming the executive director of the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and a professor at North Carolina State University. He also participated in national projects such as President Obama’s Future Ready Schools initiative. Kleiman received his PhD in cognitive psychology from Stanford University.
