Hayin Kimner

Hayin Kimner is the managing director for the Community Schools Learning Exchange (CSLX). She serves as senior policy and research fellow at Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE). She was recently a nonresident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution in support of the Community Schools Forward national task force. While at the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at the Stanford Graduate School of Education, she co-facilitated the evaluation of multiple community and school-based project initiatives with an emphasis on collaborative, theory-based, qualitative research methods that engaged community partners across counties in the greater Bay Area. She also served as a senior program director for the Opportunity Institute and has led the development of district-wide and citywide community school strategies for Bay Area school districts. Kimner is an educational practitioner, researcher and evaluator, and policy advocate with a focus on community school systems and partnerships. Kimner currently works with organizations focused on advancing whole-child and equity research, policies, and practices. She continues to be actively connected to community schools initiatives and practitioners across the country. Kimner received her PhD in education, administration and policy analysis, from Stanford University.
