Himamauli Das

Himamauli Das was acting director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he led efforts to combat money laundering and protect the financial system. He previously served as counselor to the general counsel and assistant general counsel for international affairs at the Treasury Department, as well as acting deputy assistant secretary for trade and investment. Das was a senior director for international trade and investment and deputy legal advisor at the National Security Council. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at the U.S. Department of State. Before joining the government, he was senior managing director and co-head of CFIUS advisory services at K2 Integrity, focusing on regulatory, legal, and compliance issues in global engagements. While a graduate student at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy, he was a graduate researcher with Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE). Das earned his JD and an MPP from the University of California, Berkeley.
