Holly Kurtz is director of the EdWeek Research Center, which produces standalone studies as well as analyses for Education Week and special reports such as Quality Counts. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow, research assistant, and instructor of record at the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs and a Knight-Wallace fellow in the Wallace House Center for Journalists at the University of Michigan. She is also a former staff writer for the Orlando Sentinel, the Montgomery Advertiser, the Hernando Today, and the Cape Coral Daily Breeze. Her Dr. Kurtz holds a PhD in educational foundations/policy and practice from the University of Colorado at Boulder along with a BA in literature from Yale University.
