Jack H. Schuster is professor emeritus of education and public policy and senior research fellow at Claremont Graduate University. He previously served as assistant director of admissions at Tulane University; legislative assistant and later administrative assistant to Congressman John Brademas; and assistant to the chancellor and lecturer in political science at the University of California, Berkeley. Schuster chaired the editorial board of the Journal of Higher Education and served as a member of the board of trustees at Mount St. Mary’s College, Los Angeles. He co-authored several books, including The Faculty Factor: Reassessing the American Academy in a Turbulent Era and The American Faculty: The Restructuring of Academic Work and Careers. Schuster earned his JD from Harvard Law School and a PhD in education from the University of California, Berkeley.
