James Q. Hammond is superintendent of the Ontario–Montclair School District (OMSD), where he has led numerous initiatives resulting in high levels of student academic achievement and increased attendance. Under his leadership, OMSD boasts eleven Gold Ribbon Schools, two California Distinguished Schools, and four International Baccalaureate World Schools. He previously served as superintendent of Davis Joint Unified School District and Tukwila School District, and as principal of Bethel High School in Washington state. Hammond earned his MA in educational leadership and administration from Gonzaga University and an EdD in education from Washington State University. ​
