John M. Krieg

John M. Krieg is professor of economics with the Department of Economics in the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University (WWU). At WWU, he directs the University Office of Survey Research and serves as a codirector of the Teacher Education Learning Collaborative. He is also a senior fellow with the Fraser Institute in Canada. He previously served as a visiting scholar at Aalto University in Finland and as professor at the United States Naval Academy. His research interests focus on the economics of education with specific application to teacher labor markets, policy evaluation, and employee unions. His work has appeared in over 15 notable academic publications, including the American Education Research Journal, Education Finance and Policy, Economics of Education Review, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, and Education Evaluation and Policy. Krieg received his PhD in economics from the University of Oregon.
