June Ahn is a professor of learning sciences and research–practice partnerships in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). His research lab is the Design & Partnership Lab. He is also a member of the Connected Learning Lab, an Organized Research Unit (ORC) within UCI. He was previously an assistant professor at the University of Maryland in a joint appointment at the College of Education and the College of Information Studies where he directed the Human–Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL). Ahn conducts research at the intersection of participatory design, technology, education, and community partnerships. designs and studies sociotechnical systems, or how social, cultural, and institutional factors intersect with the affordances of new technologies to create enhanced and equitable learning opportunities for all learners. Ahn received his PhD in urban education policy from the University of Southern California.
