Katharine Strunk
Katharine O. Strunk is a professor of education policy and, by courtesy, of economics, and the Clifford E. Erickson Distinguished Chair in Education. She is also codirector of the Michigan State University Education Policy Innovation Collaborative and an associate editor of the journal Education Finance and Policy. Strunk’s research is focused on three areas, all of which fall under the broad umbrella of K–12 education governance: teachers’ unions and the collective bargaining agreements they negotiate with school districts; teacher evaluation and compensation; and accountability policies. She was previously an associate professor at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California and an assistant professor of education policy at the University of California, Davis. Strunk received her PhD in administration and policy analysis from Stanford Graduate School of Education.
