Kylie Peppler

Kylie Peppler is professor of informatics in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences and professor of education in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. An artist by training, she engages in research that focuses on the design of new technologies to support learning and participation within traditionally minoritized populations, particularly at the intersection of the arts and STEM learning ecosystems. She was previously an associate professor of learning sciences at Indiana University Bloomington; a visiting scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Education; and a research assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her studies have been published in leading journals in the fields of education, technology, and the arts, and she has received several awards for her work, including Mira Tech Educator of the Year and the Indiana Governor's Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders. She sits on the editorial boards for the International Journal for Computer Supported Collaborative Learning and Computer Science Education. Peopler received her PhD in urban schooling from the University of California, Los Angeles.
