Laura Desimone

Laura Desimone is the L. Sandra and Bruce L. Hammonds Professor in Teacher Education and director of research in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Delaware. She also holds a faculty appointment in the School of Education; an affiliation with the Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics faculty group; and a secondary appointment in the Joseph R. Biden Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration. Her research focuses on how state, district, and school-level policies promote changes in teaching that lead to improved student achievement, with work spanning teacher professional development, mentoring, school reform, and mathematics and science curricular interventions. She has been recognized as an American Educational Research Association fellow and received the SAGE 10-Year Impact Award. Desimone received her PhD in public policy analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
