Laura Gascue is the former data core manager at the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics at the University of Southern California, where she led claims analytics and conducted statistical and quantitative research on healthcare and economic issues. Her work focused on drug prices, utilization, generic and biosimilar substitution, Medicare policies, and dialysis treatments. She previously worked as a research programmer and quantitative analyst at the Schaeffer Center, a senior analyst at Econ One Research, and a consultant at Harris Economics Group, specializing in statistical modeling and economic analysis. She is currently the associate director of HCE Medical Informatics at UnitedHealthcare. She has co-authored studies published in JAMA Internal Medicine and other health policy journals. Gascue earned her MA in statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a licenciatura in economics from Universidad de la República in Uruguay.
