Laura K. Rogers

Laura K. Rogers is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations, and Policy at the University of Virginia. Previously, she served as an assistant professor at the University of Utah. Her research examines how policies and organizational conditions shape the careers of K–12 district leaders, principals, and teachers. Her recent work has explored educator well-being and turnover, district-led principal pipeline initiatives, and changes in the roles of central office administrators. She also studies how caregiving responsibilities influence educator effectiveness, retention, and advancement into leadership, as well as how school districts use research evidence to support school improvement. Rogers is a former Teach For America corps member and elementary school teacher. She earned a PhD in leadership and policy studies from Vanderbilt University.
