Margaret L. Plecki is an emeritus professor in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program at the University of Washington's College of Education. Her research and teaching expertise includes school finance, education policy, the economics of education, educational leadership, the allocation of resources for school improvement, teaching quality, and mixed-methods research design. She directed the Center for the Study of Teaching and Policy and served as a policy analyst and research director for Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE). Elected president of the Association for Education Finance and Policy, she also served two terms on its board of directors. Her career includes roles as a special education teacher, school administrator, and managing partner of an education consulting firm. She was a member of Washington State's Compensation Working Group. Plecki earned her PhD in educational administration and policy analysis.from the University of California, Berkeley.
