Mari Guillermo

Mari Guillermo is an assistant professor in the Department of Administration, Rehabilitation, and Postsecondary Education at San Diego State University and a certified rehabilitation counselor. She has over 30 years of experience in research, training, and technical assistance through the SDSU Interwork Institute, where she has directed and coordinated multiple grant-funded projects. Her research focuses on career and work-based learning experiences for transition students, multicultural counseling and cultural humility, capacity building, and leadership. Guillermo has also served as project coordinator on federally funded initiatives supporting students with disabilities in higher education. She teaches courses on multicultural dimensions in counseling, group dynamics in rehabilitation, and program development. Guillermo earned her MS in rehabilitation counseling from San Diego State University and an EdD in educational leadership from the University of San Diego.
