Martina Nieswandt

Martina Nieswandt is vice president for research at Chapman University. She was previously associate vice chancellor for research and engagement at the University of Massachusetts Amherst; she has also had faculty positions at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto; and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. She has also been a researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Kiel, in Germany. Her research focuses on STEM education, particularly in chemistry and mathematics. She has published over 40 articles and two books, delivered numerous keynote addresses, served as a research leader fellow of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, and a leadership fellow of Higher Education Resource Services. Nieswandt received her PhD from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany.
