Masashi Izumi is a former research associate in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology in the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University, where he also taught Japanese for the Lee Honors College. He was previously a principal and teacher at Tokyo Public Middle School in Japan. At Western, his research focused on the determinants of graduation rates for public alternative schools. Izumi earned his PhD in educational leadership with a concentration in organizational analysis leadership from Western Michigan University.
