Michelle Spiegel
Michelle Spiegel is a postdoctoral researcher with the Educational Opportunity Project (EOP) in the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. Spiegel has been a graduate student researcher with the School of education at the University of California, Irvine and a junior research scientist with the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University. She was also a teaching fellow with Citizen Schools. Her research broadly focuses on inequalities in K–12 education, and how policy can improve educational opportunities for low-income students. She relies on descriptive and quasi-experimental methods for her research. In addition to studying educational inequalities, she is interested in the history and sociology of education policy knowledge. Spiegel received her MA in public administration from New York University and PhD in education from the University of California, Irvine.
