Min Sun is a professor of education policy in the College of Education at the University of Washington (UW). Dr. Sun was also founder and co-director of the UW Educational Policy Analytics Lab (EPAL). She was formerly an assistant professor of quantitative methods and policy analysis at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She specializes in teacher learning, the school and policy contexts that support teacher learning, and AI/ML research and application developments in education. Her research has been distinguished by various awards and honors while she has been named a Thomas B. Fordham Institute and American Enterprise Institute Emerging Education Policy Scholar and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Early Career Scholar; she was the recipient of both a Michigan State University Erickson Research Fellowship and Research Enhancement Award. Dr. Sun holds a dual PhD im educational policy and measurement and quantitative methods (MQM) from Michigan State University, an MA in the economics of education from Beijing Normal University, and a BA in pre-school education from Hebei University.
