Nicole Arshan is a principal scientist at Abt Global, where she leads research initiatives focused on rigorous mixed-methods design, program evaluation, and scaling successful educational interventions. She was previously a senior principal education researcher and evaluation methods lead at SRI International, where she specialized in the design and execution of randomized control trials and other rigorous large-scale studies of interventions designed to improve instructional quality. Arshan was also co-principal investigator of the evaluation of the New Leaders Emerging Leaders Program and led a team of SRI researchers on a third-party academic peer review of Pearson Education research reports grounded in the What Works Clearinghouse Standards and Procedures and the Every Student Succeeds Standards of Evidence. Earlier in her career, she was a research assistant at the Center for Education Policy Analysis at Stanford University and served as an assistant director of undergraduate admissions at Georgetown University. Arshan earned her BA in history from William & Mary, an MA in social sciences in education from Stanford University, and a PhD in education policy analysis from Stanford University.
