Nicole M. Ardoin
Nicole M. Ardoin is the Emmett Family Faculty Scholar and an associate professor of environmental behavioral sciences with the Environmental Social Sciences Department in the Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University. She is also the Sykes Family Director of the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources in the Stanford School of Earth, Energy, and Environmental Sciences; a senior fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment; an affiliate of the Precourt Institute for Energy at Stanford; and founder of the Stanford Social Ecology Lab. Ardoin is an interdisciplinary social scientist and social ecologist who researches individual and collective environmental behavior as influenced by environmental learning and motivated by place-based connections. She uses mixed-methods approaches to study human–environment interactions at the individual and collective scales. She received her MPhil and PhD in environmental studies from Yale University.
