Pamela L. Grossman is the George and Diane Weiss Professor of Education in the School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the former dean of Penn GSE. She was previously the Nomellini-Olivier Professor of Education at Stanford University, where she founded and led the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET) and established the Hollyhock Fellowship for early-career teachers in underserved schools. Earlier, she was the Boeing Professor of Teacher Education at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on the preparation of teachers and other professionals, and issues of instructional quality, particularly in English Language Arts. She currently serves as vice president National Academy of Education (NAE). Grossman earned her MA in instructional research and curriculum design from the University of California, Berkeley and both an EdS in evaluation and a PhD in curriculum and teacher education from Stanford University.
