Rachana Bhatt
Rachana Bhatt is executive director of research and policy analysis for the University System of Georgia (USG) at Georgia State University. She has also been a senior scientist with the USG Consortium for Analysis of Student Success through International Education (CASSIE). Bhatt participates in data collection from 26 USG institutions, fielding and responding to data requests while conducting research and analysis to guide education policy. Her own research evaluates education policies and programs in K–20 settings with the goal of translating data into usable information for informed decision-making and problem-solving. Before joining the USG, she was assistant professor of economics in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at GSU. With over fifteen years of public service work experience in state and federal government, she further specializes in applied economics and econometrics with applications to education, public health, and transportation. She is currently an economist with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the U.S. Department of Transportation. Bhatt earned a PhD and MA in economics from the University of Rochester.
