Rachel Lambert is an associate professor in special education and mathematics education at the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research focuses on increasing access to meaningful mathematics for students with disabilities by examining the intersections between Disability Studies in Education and mathematics education. She has conducted longitudinal studies on how Latinx students with learning disabilities construct identities as mathematics learners and how mathematical pedagogy influences teachers’ perceptions of students as disabled. Lambert previously spent over a decade as a teacher in both special and general education settings, including in California. Lambert earned her PhD in urban education from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York.
