Robert A. Petrin
Robert A. Petrin is senior vice president and director of Data Analytics and Applied Sciences at Ipsos. He has been a research scientist with the Center for Educational and Applied Developmental Science at The Pennsylvania State University, where he was a postdoctoral researcher with the Methodology Center. He was also a predoctoral fellow with the NORC Data and Development Center at the University of Chicago, where he served on the Data Science Institute industry advisory board for the Master of Science Program in Analytics. As a sociologist and applied statistician, Petrin uses his methodological expertise for longitudinal data analysis, probability and nonprobability sampling, evaluation design, RCTs and CRTs, GLMs, empirical Bayes modeling, latent class analysis, and missing data with particular substantive interests in social change, the intersection of economic and social phenomena, and education. Petrin received his MAS in applied statistics from The Pennsylvania State University and his PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago.
