Ronald Powell is the CEO and president of RJ Powell Consultants. He is the former administrator of the Desert/Mountain Special Education Local Plan Area with almost 20 years service managing SELPA. He formerly served as assistant superintendent of the Victor Valley Union School District in California. With over 40 years of experience as a teacher, consultant, and administrator for a wide variety of innovative alternative and special education programs, Powell is a recognized expert on school-based mental health and trauma-informed instruction. He has been instrumental in the development of several exemplary programs for at-risk youth. Powell received his MA in special education and PhD in education from the University of California, Riverside.
