Sarah Ryan is a senior research scientist at the Education Development Center, a global nonprofit that advances lasting solutions to improve education, promote health, and expand economic opportunity. She leads applied research and evaluation projects on education policy and student outcomes, with a focus on postsecondary access, multilingual learners, and disparities in educational opportunities. Ryan was previously a research scientist at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research and an Institute of Education Sciences postdoctoral research fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. She is certified in What Works Clearinghouse Group and Single Case Design standards and regularly conducts systematic evidence reviews. Ryan earned her BA in education from Edgewood College, an MS in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a PhD in education policy from the University of California, Riverside.
