Scott Carrell is professor of economics at the University of California, Davis, where he also serves as the cofaculty director of the California Education Laboratory. His research focuses on the economics of education. In addition, Carrell is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a research fellow at Institute for the Study of Labor, and a co-editor for the Journal of Human Resources. He previously taught at Dartmouth College and the U.S. Air Force Academy. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Florida.
