Su Jin Jez
Su Jin Jez is the corporate executive officer of California Competes, where she leads the organization’s work to develop nonpartisan and financially pragmatic recommendations for improved higher education and workforce policies and practices across California. She also spent over a decade as professor of public policy and administration at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), where she also served as director of the CSU Student Success Network; as an academic advisor for the CSUS California Executive Fellows Program; and as a program associate director of the CSUS State Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Jin is an accomplished researcher who has been widely published in leading academic journals. She was a recipient of the Stanford Alumni Excellence in Education Award and was honored by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) with the Pamela Tate Rise Award for advancing policy solutions that expand working adults’ access to higher education and economic mobility. She currently serves on California’s Cradle-to-Career Data System governing board, Credential Engine’s board of directors, Tipping Point Community’s leadership council, CAEL’s advisory council, the Campaign for College Opportunity’s Policy Research advisory board, and the WCCUSD LCAP Committee. Jin received her MA in economics and PhD in education administration and policy analysis from Stanford University.
