Tatiana Melguizo was a professor in the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Melguizo was a faculty affiliate of both the USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation and the USC Equity Research Institute (ERI); and a core member of the USC Pullias Center for Higher Education. She was also a faculty fellow with Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research at the University of California, Davis (UCD). As a highly accomplished professor and a leader in the fields of education and economics, her legacy extended over two decades at USC and made an indelible impact at USC Rossier, where she earned a Rossier Faculty Leadership Award for exceptional direction at the state, national, and international level. Dr. Melguizo used quantitative methods of analysis to study the association of different factors, educational programs, as well as public policies on the persistence and educational outcomes of minority and low-income students. Her research has been published in top journals, including Educational Researcher, Education Evaluation and Policy Analysis, Teachers College Record, The Journal of Higher Education, The Review of Higher Education, Research in Higher Education, Journal of Research in Educational Effectiveness, AERA Open, Higher Education, and World Development. Dr. Melguizo earned a PhD in economics of education from Stanford University and an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science along with a duel BS and BA in economics jointly from Los Andes University, Bogotá, Colombia.
