Teresita Martinez is a graduate student researcher with the California Education Lab and Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. She is in the School Organization and Education Policy program, and her research examines how local and state policies impact funding and resources for marginalized communities. Martinez previously analyzed the California budget process at the Community College Research Center, assessed financial aid policies at the University of Hawaii as a fellow at HCM Strategists, and examined barriers for undocumented students as an executive fellow at the California Student Aid Commission. Martinez earned a BA in economics with a minor in education from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MA in economics and education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a graduate certificate in applied policy and government from California State University, Sacramento.
